CARS Service Group is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician to join our friendly, professional workshop team in Worcester.

This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys getting stuck into the more challenging jobs — from complex diagnostics and engine repairs to cambelts, wet belts, clutches, gearboxes and full engine builds.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Vehicle Technician, you’ll be involved in a wide variety of mechanical and diagnostic work across all makes and models.

Your day-to-day role will include:

• Advanced vehicle diagnostics and fault finding
• Engine diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds
• Engine removal, strip-down and rebuilding
• Cambelt and timing chain replacement
• Wet belt replacement and associated repairs
• Clutch replacement and flywheel work
• Gearbox repairs and replacement
• Head gasket diagnosis and replacement
• Major mechanical repairs
• Electrical and electronic fault finding
• Identifying faults accurately and carrying out effective repairs
• Carrying out servicing and routine mechanical maintenance when required
• Working safely and efficiently to a high standard
• Supporting other technicians and sharing your experience with the wider workshop team
• Carrying out final checks to ensure vehicles leave the workshop in a safe, reliable condition

Every day is different, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of vehicles and increasingly complex jobs.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for an experienced technician who can confidently work independently and isn’t afraid of a difficult diagnosis or major repair.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Senior Technician
• Strong mechanical knowledge across a wide range of makes and models
• Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Experience with engine repairs and rebuilds
• Experience carrying out cambelt and wet belt replacements
• Experience with clutches and flywheels
• Experience with gearbox repairs or replacement
• Experience diagnosing and repairing head gasket and engine-related faults
• The ability to diagnose problems accurately rather than simply replacing parts
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
• A professional and reliable approach
• Good timekeeping and a strong work ethic
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a team
• A full UK driving licence

MOT testing experience or an MOT licence would be an advantage, but it isn’t essential.
